Common questions

Which devices does BrimbleBay work on?

iPad and iPhone. It's designed for iPad first, and works in both portrait and landscape.

Does it need the internet?

No. Every game, voice and picture is inside the app, so it works on a plane or in the car.

What ages is it for?

The Learning Room covers roughly pre-kindergarten to 2nd grade, about ages 4 to 8. Game Night and Active Play are for the whole family. A few games made for ages 10 and up stay hidden until a grown-up turns them on.

How do children earn time?

By making new progress in learning and active games, such as a new word, a story understood or a yoga pose learned. You set which games are earned and how many minutes. The parents' guide has the details.

Can my children change the settings?

Settings, the family plan and anything that leaves the app are behind your parent passcode. To keep a child inside BrimbleBay, use Apple's Guided Access (see Locking the iPad).

I forgot my parent passcode.

We never see your data, so we can't look it up. Today the only way to start over is to delete BrimbleBay and install it again, which also clears your children's progress and jars. Please email us first: we're adding a safer way to reset it.

How does the family plan work?

Four games are free to try. One family plan opens every game for your household, with monthly and yearly options. It's bought and managed through your Apple account. If it ends, progress and saved minutes are kept and the free games stay open.

How do I cancel?

On your iPad or iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then BrimbleBay. Or open For grown-ups > Family plan > Manage in the app.

Do my children's minutes move between our iPads?

Not yet. Each device keeps its own jars today. Sync through your family's own iCloud is planned, and will always be off until you turn it on.

What do you do with our data?

Nothing, because we don't collect it. Progress, names and drawings stay on your device. Read our privacy policy.

Can I share a progress report with a teacher?

Yes. Some learning games can make a progress report or printable practice sheet. They open behind the grown-up check, and you choose where to send them.
